Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic manipulation (also known as chiropractic adjustment or spinal manipulation), is a common therapeutic treatment for upper, mid and low back pain and discomfort.

Manipulation does not necessarily mean joint or back "cracking” and manipulation can be done very gently or very firmly, depending on your preferences. Our office does not advocate the need for cracking joints on every visit.
There are several methods of chiropractic manipulation, including manual adjustments, activator method, diversified chiropractic methods and more, all offered at our Modesto Chiropractor offices.

Acupressure

Acupressure (a blend of "acupuncture" and "pressure") is a complementary medicine technique derived from acupuncture. In acupressure physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points by the hand, elbow, or with various devices with aim of balancing energy within the body.

Acupoints used in treatment may or may not be in the same area of the body as the targeted symptom. The TCM theory for the selection of such points and their effectiveness is that they work by stimulating the meridian system to bring about relief by rebalancing yin, yang, and qi (chi). This theory is based on the paradigm of TCM.

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, or DNS, is the manual and rehabilitative approach to optimize the movement system based upon the scientific principles of developmental kinesiology. DNS therapy is used to rehabilitate and optimize movement in order to treat and prevent injuries further down the line. This type of therapy is especially useful for athletes as it focuses on exercise and fitness training.

Stabilization Taping

Tape treatments help reduce inflammation and pain by normalizing muscle control. This allows for pain-free mobility and function and works with your physical therapy to get your limbs working up to full strength.

Nutritional Testing

Our nutritional testing is customized to each patients needs using the best quality supplements all made here in the U.S.

Pulse Electromagnetic Force

High-powered PEMF devices generate results at an accelerated rate and can be easily adjusted for optimal level of penetration. PEMF promotes cellular exercise, which increases circulation, and blood oxygenation, and helps the body recover naturally while reducing inflammation, and, relieving pain.

Stim, E Stim, or Electrical Stimulus Therapy

Electrical stimulation uses an electrical current to cause a single muscle or a group of muscles to contract. By placing electrodes on the skin in various locations the physical therapist can recruit the appropriate muscle fibers. Contracting the muscle via electrical stimulation helps strengthen the affected muscle. The physical therapist can change the current setting to allow for a forceful or gentle muscle contraction. Along with increasing muscle strength, the contraction of the muscle also promotes blood supply to the area that assists in healing.

A TENS unit stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. It is a small battery operated machine that uses electrical transmission to decrease pain. Electrodes are applied to the affected area. The machine is turned on and an electrical current is sent through the electrodes. A tingling sensation is felt in the underlying skin and muscle. This signal disrupts the pain signal that is being sent from the affected area to the surrounding nerves. By breaking this signal, the patient experiences less pain.
